Layers of Protection Analysis – LOPA
An introduction to, and practice in participation and facilitation of, the LOPA methodology
Project Engineers for major projects in the Oil, Gas and Chemicals industries recognise the absolute necessity for ensuring the highest practicable integrity of the processes they design.
Utilising the LOPA methodology is a highly successful and commonly used methodology for ensuring this high integrity and being able to prove that all available steps have been taken in this respect. The LOPA methodology needs to be approached very carefully and be facilitated and practiced by trained and experienced personnel.
